BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 17. Kyrgyzneftegaz, the leading oil and gas company in Kyrgyzstan, extracted 184,000 tons of oil in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the company, this figure increased by 3.3 percent compared to 178,000 tons in 2022 and by 5.7 percent compared to 174,000 tons in 2021.
In 2020, the company extracted 147,000 tons of oil, while in 2019, it was 140,000 tons. In 2018, 126,000 tons were produced, and 103,000 tons in 2017. Overall, since 2017, production has increased by 78.6 percent.
Currently, Kyrgyzneftegaz operates 14 active oil and gas fields, with exploration activities underway at three of them. The company is also modernizing its refinery under the Kyrgyz Petroleum Company to produce products compliant with EU standards. The modernization is scheduled to be completed by 2026.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, 49,400 tons of oil products were produced in the country from January through February 2024, which is 5.8 percent more than the 46,700 tons produced in the same months of 2023.
