IMF projects spike in nominal GDP in Turkmenistan for 2023-2028

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts real GDP growth at current prices of Turkmenistan in 2023 in the amount of $82.65 billion, Trend reports.

According to official data, in the previous IMF forecast, Turkmenistan's GDP at current prices was projected at $84.89 billion, which is 2.7 percent higher than the previous forecast.

The IMF adds that the GDP at current prices in Turkmenistan will amount to $91.8 billion in 2024, $102.24 billion in 2025, $113.83 billion in 2026, $126.93 billion in 2027 and $141.68 billion in 2028.

Furthermore, Turkmenistan's GDP at current prices in 2022 amounted to $78 billion, and in 2021 - $64.37 billion, the IMF notes.

Meanwhile, the government of Turkmenistan for this year predicts the country's GDP growth in 2023 at the level of 6.5 percent.
