11M2020’s export from Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region revealed

The volume of export from the Samarkand region in Uzbekistan over the past eleven months in value terms amounted to $277.3 million, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

The bulk of exports fell on fresh vegetables and fruits amounting to $111.4 million. At the same time, the volume of textiles and food export for the reported period amounted to $64.9 million and $20.5 million, respectively.

In addition, the supplies of cotton yarn, vehicles, and spare parts for them amounted to $34 million. The rest of the export, worth $26.5 million, falls on other goods.

Earlier it was reported that the Samarkand region from January through August 2020 exported 80,000 tons of agricultural products for $62 million.

The Samarkand region in terms of the total volume of production (services) of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries occupies a leading position in Uzbekistan. A significant share in the production of agricultural products such as milk, potatoes, vegetables, and grapes belongs to this region.

The volume of milk and potato production in the Samarkand region for 8M2020 amounted to 615,700 and 285,400 tons, respectively.

The share of the Samarkand region in the volume of the total products of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries of the country amounted to 12.9 percent.
