A project for the production of high-grade cement in the Jizzakh region worth more than two trillion soums ($191 million) will produce 1.3 million tons of cement per year, of which 200,000 tons will be exported, Trend reports referring to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan, a presentation of projects for the production of tin, cement, electronic water meters, reinforced concrete and ceramic products, as well as projects in the field of logistics took place in Tashkent.
The presidential press service reports that one of the listed projects includes organization of the tinplate production in Tashkent, the cost of which is estimated at 280 million euros. It is planned that the production capacity of the enterprise will be 120,000 tons per year, and 750 jobs will be created.
In addition, the cost of the project for the production of hermetic compressors for refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners will amount to 735 billion soums ($70 million). Its annual capacity will be account for three million units, 500,000 units are planned to be supplied abroad. Also, 300 jobs will be created.
Also, projects for the production of electronic water meters, reinforced concrete and ceramic products were also presented.
Furthermore, particular attention was paid to projects to create logistics centers in Tashkent and regions. It was noted that these centers will include warehouses for food and non-food items, and provide freight, courier and e-commerce services. More than 5,000 jobs will be created.
Also, the president of Uzbekistan instructed to conduct an examination of projects to ensure their high-quality implementation. He noted that it is necessary to introduce a similar system in the context of industries and regions, assess the preparation and implementation of investment projects, and assist lower-level specialists.
