S. Korean company eyes producing medical devices in Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region

South Korean i-Sens Inc. company plans to establish joint production of blood glucose meters in Kashkadarya region in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo Uzbek news agency.

It is reported that a meeting was held in the Korean-Uzbek business center in Incheon, during which the general manager of South Korean i-Sens Inc. Mang Seok-woo discussed issues of practical implementation of the investment project for the organization in the Kashkadarya region of mobile medical devices for determining the level of sugar in the blood (glucometers).

Mang Seok-woo informed that on the basis of the Memorandum on bilateral partnership signed on February 9 this year between the administration of Kashkadarya region and i-Sens Inc. the South Korean side continues to prepare a feasibility study for the project.

He noted that this work includes a detailed study of the volume of demand for blood glucose meters in the markets of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries, as well as the preparation of a financial model, planning of production facilities, and more.

In addition, according to the representative of i-Sens Inc., the South Korean side is analyzing the data and forming the business model of the project based on the responses to the questionnaire sent to Uzbekistan earlier.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the implementation of joint activities aimed at completing technical documentation, including conducting relevant online negotiations with the administration of the Kashkadarya region and other involved ministries and departments of Uzbekistan.
