The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan and the UK’s TheCityUK organization signed an agreement to study British experience in the development and regulation of the capital market and its introduction to the local market, Trend reports referring to the Uzbek ministry.
The main purpose of the agreement is to support and encourage the consistent development of the Uzbek capital market, as well as to ensure that professional services in financial and capital markets comply with international standards.
In particular, the agreement will allow modernization and development of the infrastructure of the local capital market of Uzbekistan; improve the regulatory and supervisory functions of the Uzbek Central Bank, including the harmonization of capital market regulation with corporate governance and assets in accordance with international standards.
Also, an effective exchange of the organization’s best practices in the field of financial literacy, advanced training and retraining of specialists in this field will be reached.
