Uzbekistan to support new projects of food producers

Uzbekistan will support the implementation of new promising projects of the food producers, Trend reports via the Uzbek National Database of Legislation.

In particular, the government will allocate 20 billion soums ($1.8 million) to the Fund for Agricultural Development and Food Security.

These funds will be allocated for:

- covering 50 percent of the cost of preparing a feasibility study for emerging new promising projects for the production of food products in an amount not exceeding 100 million soums ($9,250) for each project;

- covering 50 percent of the costs of providing infrastructure for projects in an amount not exceeding 100 million soums ($9,250) for each project;

- covering 50 percent of the costs of attracting foreign experts in the field of production and deep processing of food products in an amount not exceeding 50 million soums ($4,625) for each project.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan will increase competitiveness and diversify food products, as well as create new tools to support entrepreneurs involved in the processing of fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy and other agricultural products.
