BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The volume of all loans issued by private banks of Uzbekistan from January through March 2022 increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Central Bank.
This figure in the corresponding period amounted to 50.5 trillion soums ($4.5 billion), and from January through March 2021 amounted to 34.2 trillion soums ($3 billion).
The volume of loans of the banks with a state share from January through March 2022 amounted to 289.7 trillion soums ($25.8 billion), which is an increase of 16.2 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (249.3 trillion soums or $22.2 billion).
From January through March 2022, the volume of loans of the banks with a state share in Uzbekistan exceeded the volume of loans of private banks by 5.7 times, which amounted to 239.3 trillion soums ($21.3 billion).
The total volume of all loans issued by banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 340.3 trillion soums ($30.3 billion) from January through March 2022.
