BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The value of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan from January through July 2022 amounted to 70.7 trillion soums ($6.4 billion), which is an increase of 22.5 percent compared to the same period of the last year (57.7 trillion soums, or $5.3 billion), Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During this period, most of the construction work was carried out in the country’s Tashkent city for a total of 17.3 trillion soums ($1.6 billion), followed by the Tashkent region for a total of 6.4 trillion soums ($579.7 million), Samarkand region (4.7 trillion soums, or $427.7 million).
In 2021, construction work worth 107.4 trillion soums ($9.9 billion) was carried out in Uzbekistan. At the same time, the value of construction work carried out in 2020 amounted to 88.1 trillion soums ($8.1 billion).
