BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Egyptian Orascom Construction company plans to build an industrial zone in Uzbekistan's Navoi region, Trend reports.
The issue was discussed at the meeting the representatives of the Navoi regional administration and the management of the Orascom Construction.
The total investment volume of the project will amount to $50 million.
During the meeting, the Orascom Construction representatives have been informed about available land plots where the industrial zone can be built.
Previously, Orascom Construction expressed interest in implementing a project in Uzbekistan to establish an industrial park with subsequent construction of facilities for the production of paints and chemicals for construction materials, as well as the construction of a 100 MW wind power plant.
On May 29, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Chairman of Orascom Investment Holding, Naguib Sawiris. The company's plans for implementing major investment projects in Uzbekistan worth over $1.2 billion within the framework of a joint "roadmap" were discussed.
