(dpa) - A senior Iranian Member of Parliament on Tuesday termed the latest United Nations Security Council resolution against Iran as "political and unacceptable," ISNA news agency reported.

"The resolution is solely politically motivated and therefore unacceptable for Iran," Alaeddin Borujerdi, head of the parliament's foreign policy and security commission, told ISNA.

The UN Security Council voted on Monday 14-0, with Indonesia abstaining, to impose additional sanctions on Iran for its continued refusal to abandon nuclear activities.

"Resolution 1803 is contrary to the contents of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report on Iran and can therefore not be implemented," the MP said.
