None of the candidates in Tehran could overcome the minimum barrier during the parliamentary elections held in Iran, ILNA reported.
A candidate must gain 25 percent of votes plus one vote in order to win. Thus, there would be a second round of voting, the agency reported.
Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, whose ministry is in charge of elections in the country, announced on Saturday that elections have ended for 135 candidates who have won a majority of votes in the Friday polls, while ballot counting will continue for the remaining 155 seats in the next two days.
