Leaders of the 'eight' called upon the new president of Iran Hassan Rouhani to use the opportunity to improve his country's relations with the international community, RIA Novosti reported.
"We celebrate the election of the president Rouhani and call upon Iran to take the opportunity to overcome the differences with the international community," the final communiqué of the G8 summit which ended in Northern Ireland.
"We once again call upon Iran to fully and immediately begin fulfilling its international obligations. And we call upon the international community to ensure the full implementation of the UN sanctions," the document says.
G8 leaders called upon Iran to answer all questions regarding its nuclear program, and to improve the human rights situation. In addition, they appealed to the government of the country to get serious the negotiations in the framework of the 'six'.
