The Iranian and U.S. foreign ministers met in NY after 34 years and the two countries` presidents talked for first time via telephone last week.

Reactions towards these developments both in the United States and Iran were not absolutely unique and positive.

Commenting on the issue, the head of the Iran World Trade Center, Mohammad Reza Sabzalipour told Trend on October 2 that, a big step has been launched to remove mistrust between Iran and the US, adding that Iranian president Hassan Rouhani and his US counterpart Barack Obama`s step faced different reactions in international community as well as their countries.

He went on to note that, some groups agree with the policy, while some others are against reestablishing Iran-US relations.

Commenting on international sanctions against Iran and the country's economic situation, Sabzalipour underlined that Iran should take fundamental steps for establishing close relations with the West and achieving big advantages within framework of the country's national interests.

Iran and the international community's conflict mainly formed due to the country's nuclear program and peaked during the administration of ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (2005-2013), he said, adding that the issue caused that the UN Security Council, EU, US and its allies imposed extreme sanctions against Iran.

Sabzalipour stated that the Iran's nuclear issue changed to an international problem due to political conflicts with west, in particular the US.

He went on to note that, Western countries does not trust Iran, which claims its nuclear program is peaceful, remarking that, Iran's peace threaten by west's malice against Iran's nuclear program.

Obama remarked that he will keep military option on the table until Tehran proves its nuclear program is peaceful during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu yesterday.

Some US senators and influential former officials opposed Obama`s soft tone towards Iran as well as Israel, Sabzalipour said, adding that some powers inside Iran are also against Rouhani`s peaceful approach.

The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari called Rouhani`s phone conversation with his US counterpart, a tactical mistake. Some extremist groups which were called "wayward" protested Rouhani after his arrival to Tehran. The protesters threw shoes at Rouhani.

Iranian media outlets informed that Mohammad Sadegh Shahbazi, a senior member of the defeated presidential candidate, Said Jalili`s (former secretary of Supreme National Security Council which headed Iran's nuclear negotiations during Ahmadinejad`s administration) presidential campaign was also among the protesters.

"During last presidential elections in Iran, Rouhani was the most moderate candidate who promised will decrease tensions with West during his campaign," Sabzalipour said, adding that, his viewpoints caused experts to be optimistic towards the future of Iran and west-in particular the US- relations which helped Rouhani to win the election in the first round.

Appointing Mohammad Javad Zarif as FM also increased hopes towards changes in Iran's foreign policy and repairing the hostile policy of the Ahmadinejad, he underlined.

Should be careful of extremists and slogans

The head of the Iran World Trade Center says that the last presidential election has established best opportunity for achieving desired results in nuclear negotiations and come close to West.

Washington should use the opportunity, and suggest suitable proposals to Iran, he said, adding that the US should show that believes on diplomacy and take the opportunity to resolve its political conflicts with Iran.

The White House should show its readiness to lift sanctions against Iran, Sabzalipour added.

According to the West, Iran which officially announced that Israel must be destroyed cannot use the word "right" regarding nuclear issues, he argued.

Building mutual confidence will play important role in establishing aggressive-free dialogues, even resolving the nuclear issue, he added.

"The main question is that, are the factors including- Rouhani`s presidential campaign slogans, experienced fellow workers such as Zarif, Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and the suitability of the time for mutual negotiations- sufficient and guarantied factors for resolving the issue and progressing the Iran-US negotiations" Sabzalipour argued, adding that " I am not pessimist but despite the mentioned factors there is not a positive sign for progressing the Tehran- Washington negotiations in the new future."

Extremists in the two countries which benefit the conflicts and sanctions against Iran are the main obstacle repairing bilateral relations, he said.

He also criticized signals from the US Congress which ask for tighter sanctions against Iran, saying that, the Congress should not impose more sanctions against Iran at the present time.

Some radical groups in the Democrat and Republican parties as well as the Israeli lobby in the US have increased pressure against the Congress and Obama for imposing more new sanctions against Iran, He said, underling the importance of suspending implementation of the newly sanctions against Iran which approved by the Congress for easing the negotiation between Iran and the US.

He mentioned that, the last round of sanctions against Iran was imposed on July 21 and the next round will be even tougher.

"Military intervention in Syria will also increase the tension," Sabzalipour added.

The unfriendly relations among Iran and West desperate regional countries and world powers from establishing peace and tranquility in the region, he stated, adding that, instability in the region cause that trans-regional powers to increase their presence in the region.

"By the way, permanent presence of the Western powers in the Iran's neighboring countries shown as legitimate action," he added.

Sabzalipour stated that, instability and the Western countries` permanent military presence in the region guaranties interests of the big Western and US companies which sign military equipment contracts, worth hundreds of billions dollars with Persian Gulfs States, adding that, the companies will not sacrifice their billion dollars profits for normalizing relations with Iran.

The sound of extremists in Iran would be louder

Some experts believe that, radical and extremist groups in Iran has started actions against Rouhani`s moderate policies, Sabzalipour said.

Their power is related to United States` reaction, he said, adding that if the US expectations from Iran to grow up more unrealistic and resolving the problem be impossible, Iran's radical groups will increase their expectations more harsher and their pressure against Rouhani`s administration will be increased.

He went on to note that, Rouhani was welcomed by his cabinet members, Advisor to the Iran's Supreme Leader on international affairs, Ali Akbar velayati, and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani as well as thousands of his supporters after his arrival to Tehran, alongside some radicals which protested his position and the process of the reestablishing relations with the US.

He also stated that, the Iran parliament's Foreign Policy and National Security Commission has asked Zarif to go the Commission and explain about achievements of Iran's delegation visit to NY, in particularly, Rouhani- Obama phone talk.

The radicals in the two countries are seriously pursuing the officials' statements, Sabzalipour said, adding that, the radicals make reactions based on the officials` statements.

"Iran's new administration should fulfill its international obligations and find peaceful solution for country's nuclear issue, he said, adding that, the West led by the US is eager for such interaction and relation.

"But the two sides have not reached that stage yet," Sabzalipour stated.

"Surly the groups which have political and financial interests in Western sanctions and Iran-West conflicts will not accompany Rouhani," he said, adding that presently they are silent because they know that Rouhani took these steps within coordination with the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamanei.

Sabzalipour said that, for the being time they are waiting for next days` news and are silently undermining.
