Iran’s customs income hits $2.6B over 8 months

Iran's customs income hit $2.6 billion in the first eight months of the current year.

Masoud Karbasian, Director of Iran Customs Administration, said customs income is predicted to hit $4 billion in the next year, Iran's Fars news agency reported on Dec. 8.

The current Iranian calendar year began on March 21.

US dollar free market exchange rate is about 34,000 rials in Iran.

The national budget law for the current year has envisaged that the customs income will reach $3.3 billion in the current year.

On Dec. 7, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani submitted the budget bill for the next Iranian fiscal year, which begins on March 21, 2015, to the parliament.

The proposed national budget amounts about 8.379 quadrillion rials (about $311 billion based on the official exchange rate of 26,930 rials), a 4 percent rise year on year. Next year's national budget bill is based on an oil price of $72 per barrel and a projected average exchange rate of 28,500 rials to the U.S. dollar for the fiscal year.
