Iran processes 27mcm of condensates in 11 months

Iranian refineries processed over 27.8 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas condensates during the 11-montn period from March 2015.

The figure indicates a rise by 20 percent compared to the first eleven months of last Iranian fiscal year(ended March 21, 2015), Abdolhossein Samari, an official with National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said, the oil ministry's official SHANA news agency reported March 5.

Iran's refineries also produced more than 917,000 tons of sulfur during the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21, 2015- Feb. 20), the official added.

The figure indicates an increase by seven percent compared the same period of preceding year, Samari, who serves as deputy head of the National Iranian Gas Company said.

The official added that about 2.515 million tons of LPG as well as 1.465 million tons of ethane were produced in the refineries in 11-month period, he said.

The LPG and ethane output witnessed rise by 35 and eight percent respectively compared to the same months of preceding year, he added.

The official further said that Iranian refineries processed 162.5 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas during the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year.

It should be noted that the Islamic Republic holds 33.6 trillion cubic meters of proved gas reserves, sharing 18 percent of total global gas reserves which puts the country in the top of the world's gas holders list.
