The European countries exported over 4.141 million tons of goods, worth $7.965 billion to Iran during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).
The Islamic Republic's imports from the Europe registered an increase by 28 percent in terms of value and a fall by 9 percent in terms of volume respectively compared to the preceding year, according to the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) on May 1.
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) took a dominant share from Iran’s imports during the 12-month period. Tehran imported some 6.8 million tons of goods, worth $9.65 billion from the OIC countries during the 12-month period. The mentioned amount is 29 and 14 percent less in terms of volume and value respectively, compared the same period of last fiscal year (March 20, 2015-March 20, 2016).
