Iran to hold int’l tender for water desalination facilities

South Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Development Company (SPEIID), affiliated with the state-owned Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) intends to hold an international tender for the construction of sea water desalination facility.

Subject: SPEIID, based on BOO (build, operate, own), intends to invite and pre-qualify investors, as well as evaluate the qualifications of investors for financing, management, engineering design, construction operations, maintenance, commissioning, procurement, installation and operation to provide, storage and transmit fresh water in Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone (PEISEZ) located in Parsian city of Hormozgan Province.

Total installed capacity: 750,000 cubic meters/day

Commercial operation period: 30 years

Land allocation: annual lease

Price: based on produced water and a sliding fee financial model

Technology applied: Thermal/R.O
