A Russian delegation visited Iran’s agricultural projects being developed in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan with the help of haloculture technology.

The Russian delegation, accompanied by senior Iranian agricultural officials in the province, paid a visit to Mirza Kuchak Khan Agro Industry Company in Khuzestan and got familiar with its ongoing projects, IRNA news agency reported on July 15.

They were briefed about the company’s cotton, hemp, fish, and shrimp projects.

The Russians also visited the country’s haloculture projects and were told about sustainable production of different agricultural and industrial products in saline environments during their tour at the company.

Haloculture offers a strategy for sustainable use of highly saline soil and water resources to provide some of the future human needs. Along with development of strategies for sustainable and profitable production of bio-products, Haloculture also emphasizes on providing energy and drinking water as the basic needs of rural societies who are going to implement those strategies in less developed, salt affected regions.
