Iran to increase renewable power plants capacity

A spokesman for the electricity industry of Iran said currently, there are about 1,000 megawatts of renewable power plants in the country, but according to the resources allocated in current Iranian year's budget law (started on March 21), there is potential to increase this capacity to 2,000 megawatts.

Referring to unauthorized cryptocurrency farms, Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi says that the electricity of the illegal farms will cut off as soon as they identify, Trend reports citing ILNA.

He said that so far, about 200,000 cryptocurrency mining devices have been seized from illegal farms. “This number of mining devices consumed more than 570 megawatts of electricity.”

Rajabi Mashhadi rejected the possibility of sabotage in electrical installations.

"There has been no report on sabotage so far,” he said adding that fortunately, the necessary precautions have been taken to counter and prevent cyber-attacks.

A spokesman for the electricity industry of Iran said that 25,000 MW of power plants should have been built by the current administration. Of these, 10,800 MW power plants have been built so far, but another 15,000 MW remained due to sanctions.”

Rajabi Mashhadi also pointed out that 10,800 MW of power plants have been built, from the conversion of gas power plants to combined cycle, they have been added to the country's capacity, without consuming any fuel.
