Imports of non-oil products to Iran's West Azerbaijan province declines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Import of non-oil products to West Azerbaijan Province, located in the northwest of Iran, decreased by 1 percent in value and 21 percent in weight in 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, Trend reports, referring to the Iran's Customs Administration.

About 942,000 tons of non-oil products worth $453 million were imported to Iran's West Azerbaijan Province in 11 months.

During the mentioned period, the province mainly imported bananas, trucks, raw cotton, truck spare parts, and aluminum ingots. These products were mainly imported from Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and China.

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, Iran imported about 35.8 million tons of products worth around $59.9 billion in 11 months. Imports of Iranian products increased by 11.1 percent in value terms and 6.4 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

To note, Iran's imports of products mainly focus on imports of necessary goods needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on imports of domestically produced products into the country.
