Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet leader of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces Ahmed al-Jarba in Moscow on February 4, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.
The first meeting between the top officials was held in Paris on January 12. "I understand that first of all, you're concerned about the fate of Motherland. The fate of the Syrian people isn't indifferent for us," Lavrov said.
Another meeting between Lavrov and al-Jarba took place within the Geneva II Peace Conference in Montreux, ITAR-TASS reported.
"The Russian Foreign Ministry's press service confirmed that the Syrian National Coalition delegation led by Ahmed al-Jarba will arrive in Moscow. The visit is being held within Russia's active contacts with all representatives of the Syrian opposition in order to achieve the mutually acceptable political settlement within the inter-Syrian dialogue launched in Geneva on January 22," the ministry said.
Earlier, in Paris Lavrov met the National Coalition delegation that wanted to visit Moscow upon completion of the first round of the inter-Syrian talks in Geneva, the Russian ministry said.
