An Afghan civilian was killed Tuesday during an escalation-of-force incident north of Pule Alam in Logar province, NATO officials said, dpa reported.
The incident occurred when a vehicle approached an International Security Assistance Force dismounted patrol at a high rate of speed. THe soldiers attempted to stop the vehicle before finally firing at the driver, the military said.
The victim was transported by Afghan National Police to the nearest medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
