Voting turnout in Ukraine's early parliamentary election has reached 40.42%, the Ukrainian Central Election Commission said on Sunday referring to update data by territorial commissions, TASS reported.
The turnout in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions remains lowest with 24.69% in the Donetsk region and 23.16% in the Luhansk region.
The turnout in the Odessa region is not high: 28.84% of people voted.
According to the existing data, the turnout is reaching its maximum in the Lviv region, western Ukraine, with 49.57%
A total of 42.02% voted in the Poltava region, 44.67% of people took part in the voting in the Kiev region. The turnout in the Zaporizhye region amounts to 38.31% Over 30% of people voted in the Kharkiv region.
The turnout increased to 33.67% in the Transcarpathian region. Earlier, the turnout was noted to be minimal with 12.2% as of 1:00 p.m. local time.
Over 34.6 million people are eligible to vote.
Over 32,000 polling stations work in the country and other 112 polling stations are opened in 72 countries to allow Ukrainian citizens to vote.
Totally, 6,436 candidates pretend to take seats in the Verkhovna Rada.
Under the law, 50% of deputies are elected on party lists and 50% on single-member constituencies.
