Two drones were shot down on Sunday over a military airbase housing U.S.-led coalition forces in Iraq's western province of Anbar, the Iraqi military said, Trend reports citing Xinhua.
The attack took place at 12:30 a.m. local time, and the air defense system at Ayn al-Asad Air Base intercepted and shot down the drones, the media office of the Iraqi Operations Command said in a brief statement.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
