The Turkish security forces confiscated 203.2 kg of hashish in operations in east and southeast Turkey on Monday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
The security forces found 121.7 kg of hashish hidden in separate bags in a truck carrying coal for a state hospital in eastern province of Van, the report said, adding the truck driver had been detained in alleged connection with the illicit drugs, Xinhua reported.
In another operation, the security forces confiscated 81.5 kg of hashish hidden in two vehicles in southeastern province of Sanliurfa, according to the report. It added that six suspects were detained.
Turkey is a key transit route for smuggling drugs from Asia and the Middle East to markets in western Europe.
