Turkish parliament speaker has called for a nation-wide stance against terrorism, drafting a "national reconciliation agenda", Anadolu reported.

"Any understanding or course of action that employs violence and terror cannot be accepted. We reject terrorism and violence as well as their toleration, condoning or encouragement. An we call on all those people who have been involved with terrorist organizations to lay down their weapons," said the 11-point agenda Cemil Cicek proposed for discussion in the public opinion in a meeting on Monday with reporters.

The reconciliation agenda called for harmony between all political parties, non-governmental organizations and all segments of the society.

The agenda said the fight against terrorism should be carried out within the confines of the basic principles of the rule of law and respect for human rights.
