Three soldiers were killed and five were injured in a mortar shelling by members of the Kurdistan workers' party (PKK) terrorist group in the Cukurca district of Turkey’s Hakkari province, Haberturk newspaper reported Oct. 29.
One of the wounded soldiers is in critical condition, according to the newspaper.
A counterterrorist operation involving helicopters has started in the district.
