Volume of cargo transshipped from Georgia through Turkish ports disclosed

Cargo transshipment from Georgia via Turkish ports reached 305,555 tons in January 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.

In January 2020, volume of the cargo transshipped from Georgia by the ships under Turkish flag was 65,256 tons, and by the ships under flag of other countries – 240,299 tons.

“During the reported period, the volume of the cargo transshipped from Georgia via Turkish ports in transit made up 118,920 tons,” the ministry said.

The total cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey exceeded 32.9 million tons in January 2020.

Cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.4 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying flags of their country of origin amounted to over 1.5 million tons, while the vessels flying flags of other countries carried just over 29 million tons of cargo.

In total, over 6.1 million tons of cargo were transported through Turkish ports.
