Some 200 companies with Iranian capital have been registered in Turkey from January through March 2021, which is 44 companies less compared to the same period of 2020, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend.
According to TOBB, in the reporting period, the total capital of Iranian companies registered in Turkey made up over 41.4 million liras ($5.09 million), as compared to over 37.5 million liras ($4.6 million) in the first quarter of 2020.
Meanwhile, most of the Iranian companies were registered in Istanbul (182 companies) with a total capital of slightly over 34.4 million liras ($4.2 million).
Seventeen of the companies with Iranian capital registered in the first 3 months of 2021 in Turkey were the companies that are engaged in the industrial sector, construction - 5, real estate – 27, tourism - 8, transport - 6, in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade - 80.
"The remaining companies with Iranian capital operate in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
The total capital of 80 companies operating in the wholesale and retail trade registered during the reporting period made up over 13.6 million liras ($1.6 million), according to TOBB.
