Turkey notes growth in foreign trade turnover for July

Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $37.1 billion in July 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.

“In the reporting month, Turkey's exports increased by 10.2 percent compared to the same month of 2020 - up to $16.4 billion. Imports increased by 16.8 percent and amounted to $20.6 billion,” the ministry said.

As reported, from January through July 2021, Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $268.1 billion.

"Turkey's exports for the first 7 months of this year increased by 34.9 percent compared to the same period of 2020 - up to $121.3 billion," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, during the specified period, Turkey's imports increased by 25.8 percent compared to the period of January through May last year, reaching $146.8 billion.

In 2020, Turkey's foreign trade turnover totaled over $388.8 billion. Exports from the country decreased by 6.3 percent compared to 2019, amounting to $169.4 billion. Meanwhile, imports to the country grew by 4.3 percent over the year, amounting to $219.3 billion.
