Azercell launches LTE based voice communications services

Azerbaijani mobile network operator Azercell has launched voice communication service base on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, the company's Director General Kiril Gaburich told journalists on Dec. 2.

He said that currently there are devices in the market supporting the LTE standard.

"Currently, the LTE network covers Baku and Absheron peninsula. There are some 252 LTE base stations," Gaburich said.

Gaburich went on to add that LTE based services also include the Smart House service. Azercell intends to develop this service in the Azerbaijani market starting next year.

This service allows the users to remotely control electric devices as well as use other services.
