Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh appointed Marzieh Shahdaei as head of Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and deputy oil minister, Iranian Tasnim news agency reported Feb. 8.

Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh appointed Marzieh Shahdaei as head of Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and deputy oil minister, Iranian Tasnim news agency reported Feb. 8.

Shahdaei, who replaced Abbas Sheri Moqaddam was the director for projects at the NPC.

Shahdaei, now the Islamic Republic's first woman deputy oil minister already served as member of the NPC board of directors.

Sheri Moqaddam, who was one of the oldest officials at the ministry, reportedly has withdrawn from the post voluntary due to various reasons including high age.
