Given the politicisation of Iran's nuclear programme issue, its solution requires time and patience, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in an interview with the Russian service of the Iranian IRIB News TV channel.
"If we look at this issue from a technical point of view it can be solved in a few hours. Not even in a few days, but a few hours. Even from a legal point of view this issue can be solved in a day or two, but when the question is politicised, time frames cannot be set because its solution requires political will of the parties, "Salehi said.
He said to date all the packages on the nuclear programme proposed both by the Iranian side and the opposition are based on staging and reciprocity. In other words, in response to any step taken by one party, the other shall respond.
"Today, these two important principles are stated in both proposal packages both by the Iranian side and the opposition and in my view, this is an evolution," Salehi said.
Negotiations between Iran and the 'six' on Tehran's national nuclear programme will be held in Almaty on February 26.
In 2012, representatives of the 'six' and Iran held three rounds of talks in Istanbul (April 14), Baghdad (May 23-24) and Moscow (June18-19). None of these meetings resulted in breakthroughs.
Previously talks between the 'six' and Iran were not conducted for over a year.
The U.S., a number of other Western countries and Israel suspect Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a peaceful nuclear programme. Tehran says its nuclear programme is aimed solely at meeting the country's electricity needs.
Regarding the issue of the Busher nuclear power plant, Salehi said the further the transfer date of the plant is delayed, the better it is.
"It is better to receive the station when fully aware and certain that all systems are working without problems. Sometimes the launch of Busher NPP has been discussed then consideration of its transfer to Iran is in mind. This means public opinion is confused and the launch of nuclear power will be expected, "he said.
He added that Busher NPP has already produced enough electricity and continues production.
"All of these tests are being conducted for our benefit despite the fact that the transfer of the station is delayed. We will have complete confidence that all the station's problems and issues are addressed," he said.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said that Russian experts "used the most advanced technology in construction of the plant".
"There are also such positive elements. Therefore, I would like to thank the Russians," Salehi said.
Construction of a nuclear power plant at Bushehr was launched by German concern Kraftwerk Union AG (Siemens / KWU) in 1974. An agreement was signed between the governments of Russia and Iran on construction of nuclear power plants on August 25, 1992 and a contract was signed in January 1995 to complete construction of the station's first power-generating unit.
Busher's physical launch began under the control of the IAEA on August 21, 2010, when delivery of nuclear fuel was made in the station's reactor department. In May 2011, work was carried out on the power unit work on taking the nuclear steam supply system at the minimum controllable capacity level.
