The volume of cargo transported via the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) through Azerbaijan's territory in Jan.-Aug. 2015 was 35.6 million tons, compared to 38.9 million tons in the same period of 2014, said the report from Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee.
The report said that the road transport accounted for 58.3 percent of the total volume of transported cargo, railway - 29.6 percent, maritime transport - 12.1 percent and transit cargo - 18.4 percent.
TRACECA is an international cooperation program in the field of transport between the EU and partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.
TRACECA member states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Iran.
