Azneft, a production unit of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, extracted 2.62 million tons of oil in January-May 2016, Azneft told Trend June 22.
The production unit produced 2.39 billion cubic meters of gas, which exceeds the planned figure by 2.7 percent.
“In January-May 2016, 57 inactive wells were put back on stream and that made it possible to produce additional 14,650 tons of oil, and this exceeds the forecasted figure by over three times,” Azneft said.
The production unit carried out 279 geological operations, which allowed producing additional 46,130 tons of oil.
Additional 22,000 tons of oil was produced as a result of the technical work carried out by the unit.
The scope of drilling work has also been expanded.
Some 20 wells, which gave 22,530 tons of oil, had been drilled and commissioned in January-May 2016 in accordance with an Azneft order.
