To date, we have completed a major part of the updating of general plans for 79 cities in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev said during the second Sea Breeze Investment Forum dedicated to opportunities for corporate and private investments in real estate, Trend reports.
“To date, we have completed most of the updating of master plans for 79 cities in Azerbaijan. The capital, Baku, of course, occupies a special place. It is the country's largest city, both in terms of area and population. Baku plays a significant role in the economy and many other spheres of life. Today, Baku is successfully developing according to the new general plan, which is a roadmap for the capital's development until 2040. Previously, the city was monocentric, with most administrative and cultural functions concentrated in the center. However, the new master plan sets the goal of polycentric development,” he said.
