BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Companies from the Gulf countries are showing interest in doing business in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas told reporters, Trend reports.
"Many companies are showing interest in sectors such as food security, logistics, and industry. Yesterday, we visited the free economic zone and familiarized ourselves with the business support measures. Business owners from the Gulf countries viewed these incentives very positively, and we hope that investments will follow soon," he said.
Al-Rawas also noted that a memorandum of understanding was signed today, aimed at expanding cooperation between the Gulf countries and Azerbaijan.
"We see that the development in Azerbaijan opens up a promising future for us, and we are striving to attract additional investments," he added.
The second Azerbaijan-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) economic forum is being held in Baku.
The event is featuring panel discussions themed "Cooperation on renewable energy, clean energy, electricity, and water projects", "Challenges and opportunities in the transport and logistics sectors between Azerbaijan and the Gulf Countries", and "Strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Gulf countries in agriculture, food security, and the food industry".
