Some 1,190 people were registered as candidates for MPs to participate in the forthcoming parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), said at a meeting Oct. 7.
He said that some 263 people of them were nominated by political parties, 15 - the Azadlıq-2015 election bloc, 2 - by initiative groups, 910 were self-nominated.
A number of appeals were received by the CEC in connection with the District Election Commissions' decision to refuse from the candidate registration. They were considered at the meeting.
The District Election Commission's decision on one of these appeals has been canceled and the appeal itself was granted. Four appeals were not granted and the OIC decisions remained in force.
The parliamentary election in Azerbaijan will be held on November 1.
