Azerbaijan, Baku , 12 January / Trend / Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, stated that Armenia must liberate the Azerbaijani occupied Agdam, Fizuli, Zangilan, Jabrail, Gubadli, Kalbajar and Lachin regions of Azerbaijan. The President added that the internally displaced persons must be returned to Shusha and Nagorno-Karabakh.
"I specially called the names of the regions in order to prevent Armenia to expand false statements persuading its own interest," Mr.Aliyev said.
The President noted that this notion is the key issue of the negotiations on regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and continue of the negotiations in this direction give some hope to Azerbaijan. The 2008 would be a decisive year in settling of the conflict.
"In 2008 we will understand the peaceful settlement of the conflict is possible or not possible," the President added.
The President also touched upon positions of international organizations in settling of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stated that verbal and written international support did not give positive results. "The recognition of territorial integrity of the Azerbaijani State and Armenia as an occupant country by international organization is very important in settling of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," the President stated.
