Azerbaijani MPs visited the soldiers on the occasion of Ramadan Holiday. MPs Ganira Pashayeva, Havva Mammadova, Sabir Hajiyev and Rauf Aliyev visited N military unit in Tovuz region of the country. MPs congratulated the soldiers on the occasion of Ramadan Holiday and wished them vigilant in their honorable service, and constant readiness to give a fitting rebuff to the enemy.

In her speech, MP Ganira Pashayeva said that meeting the sacred holidays together with the soldiers on the front face to face with the enemy is the duty of every citizen.

"The purpose and duty put before each of us by the Supreme Commander, President Ilham Aliyev is that at any time, any citizen - a representative of the intelligentsia or the ordinary citizen would be close to our soldiers," she said.
The MP also touched upon the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.

"This structure, which has assumed the primary mission to resolve the conflict, in fact, does not provide the necessary assessment of the situation in the conflict zone. The situation should be seen and the representatives of other international organizations must take steps to stop the invaders," said Pashayeva.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
