Yet there is not any positive step from the sides of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to meet with each other, Yuri Merzlyakov, Russian co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group, exclusively, told Trend.

Touching on the disappointment of several politicians for not-invitation of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents by the leaders of G8 to the recent summit in Saint-Petersburg, he noted that he didnt consider sensible the invitation of presidents to the summit. According to him, to support the sides, it needs to reach an agreement. It didnt need to consider this question at G8, he added. We tried to come to an agreement during last two meetings, but we couldnt achieve this, Merzlyakov said.

He emphasized that G8 called for Azerbaijan and Armenia to demonstrate the political will and prepare their peoples to peace, but not war.

Merzlyakov stressed that the co-chairs of Minsk Group have presented proposals to the conflict sides for consideration.

Besides, the diplomat ruled out that it is sensible to organize next relations between the sides and will do it.
