An explosion took place on a gas pipeline during repair work on the Taksim Square in the center of Istanbul, Turkish Hurriyet newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Roads to the square are closed, and repair work was suspended.
According to preliminary data, no one was affected by the explosion.
Investigation has been launched into the fact.
