Azerbaijani MPs to visit Iran

Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 January /corr. Trend I. Alizade/ The visit of Azerbaijani MPs to Iran which was postponed twice will now take place at the end of January. Eldar Ibrahimov, a member of the working group on Azerbaijani-Iran inter-parliamentary relations and the chairman of the permanent committee of Azerbaijani Parliament on agricultural policy reported on 10 January.

The visit of Azerbaijani MPs to Iran was originally scheduled to take place in August then postponed to December 2007.

According to Ibrahimov, the aim of the meeting is to discuss the perspectives of the inter-parliamentary relations of Azerbaijan and Iran. The exact date of the visit which will take place at the invitation of Iran parliament is being finalized, he said. "In the meetings to be held in Iran we will discuss the expansion of political, economic and cultural ties between the countries and as well as the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict, MP stated.

The working group of the Azerbaijani-Iran inter-parliamentary relations is headed by Vasif Talibov, the chairman of Parliament of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The working group includes MPs Shamseddin Hajiyev, Penah Huseyn, Eldar Ibrahimov, Madar Musayev and Sabir Rustemkhanli.
