Hungary, Budapest, 19 February / Trend corr Y. Huseynov / Hungary recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and supports the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through the international law standards and UN resolutions.
This statement was made during the joint declaration signed between the Azerbaijani and Hungarian Presidents during the Azerbaijani President's visit to Budapest.
The document stated that the sides had stressed the importance of settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the UN Security Council's resolutions and the three principals developed by the OSCE Lisbon Summit. They also supported the intermediary mission of the OSCE Minsk Group's Co-chairs.
The declaration reported on their united fight against terrorism in which world terrorism was condemned and the parties confirmed their adherence to fighting against it.
In addition, through the declaration the Presidents consolidated their positions regarding the European energy security. The declaration noted the increased role of hydrocarbons in the Caspian Sea region in providing European countries with fuel. In this context both parties emphasized the significance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, as well as the importance of the construction of the Nabucco gas pipeline.
