The statement by 211 of the 247 members of the Iranian parliament says they will support Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the coming presidential elections, IRNA reported.
Given Ahmadinejad's experience, fairness and his efforts for development of the country, we will support him in the coming elections," the MPs said in a statement.
Iran will hold presidential elections on June 12. Former Speaker Mehdi Karroubi, Former Prime Minister Mir Hussein Moussavi, Head of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (Sepah) Mohsun Rezai and incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are running for president.
