Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today inaugurated the Baku-Alat highway and inspected the construction work ongoing at the incomplete stretches of this road, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
Road builders and transport officials cheered the president.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed on the work done within the project being implemented here since 2009 under appropriate executive order of the Azerbaijani President.
It was stated that the road will enable to link south, south-west, west and central regions of country, as well as the border points in some border regions.
President Aliyev congratulated road builders and cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the road.
