President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today visited newly remodeled secondary schools #249 and #138 in Khatai district, Baku.
The schools were overhauled under a state program for speeding up socio-economic development of Baku and its suburbs.
The Head of State first visited school #249.
Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the President that the building of the school was constructed in 1972. There are now 1400 pupils in the 1280-seat school.
It provides education in both Azerbaijani and Russian languages. The school occupies a total area of 2,252 square meters.
President Ilham Aliyev then visited school #138. The Head of State was informed of reconstruction work here. The school, which consists of two blocks, was built in 1977.
The 1176-seat facility serves 1020 pupils now. The building also houses 80-seat Fuzuli district school #30.
