BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. The Armenian side resorted to provocation and started firing during the raising of the Azerbaijani flag on the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan, serviceman Elshan Rustamov said, Trend reports.
He was injured as a result of the provocation committed by Armenia yesterday in the direction of the Lachin border checkpoint.
"We were unarmed at that time. When the enemy side resorted to provocation, we quickly began to take up a position, and at that time I was wounded in my left leg," he said.

The shelling took place at 08:45 (GMT+4) on June 15, 2023. The enemy's firing point was suppressed by return fire.
The passage of cars through the Lachin checkpoint is stopped at the moment. It will not work until a full investigation of what happened is carried out, or until Armenia assumes full responsibility for the committed provocation.
