A stage show highlighting cultural aspects of China repressed by the communist government begins a European tour in the German city of Duisburg on February 13, organizers said Thursday.
The overseas Chinese group Shen Yun will showcase 5,000 years of Chinese history in dance and musical form, a spokeswoman for the Falun Gong-linked New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) said.
Spokeswoman Yiyuan Zhou said the spectacle will show spiritual and religious aspects of Chinese culture that have no place in the official offerings presented by the Chinese government.
From Duisburg, the Shen Yun Performing Arts Spectacular travels to three other German cities, including Berlin, before moving on to The Hague, London, Paris, Vienna, Prague and Stockholm.
The show has previously been seen only in the United States. It is sponsored by the New York-based NTDTV, which reaches audiences in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. ( Dpa )
